During the winter months, this piece of the Karoo becomes white with snow. Snowy conditions make it harder for the sheep to graze, as their food source is buried underneath the freezing cold layer. Snow is celebrated much like rain, as it provides the soil with some much-needed moisture and will revitalise the veld during the long winter months.
About Sutherlamb
Our sheep roam free eating fragrant shrubs that give them the distinct Lamb of the Sutherland Karoo area, flavour. Geographically we qualify to produce under the label of Lamb of the Sutherland Karoo area, of Origin but we have not as yet registered as producers traders.
